Yorkshire Museum updating its deposition policy for archaeological archives for North Yorkshire.
The collecting areas for North Yorkshire were drawn up more than a decade ago and may no longer reflect the reality. This process is to clearly define our geographical collecting area to ensure that there is provision across the whole county and to identify any potential overlaps in collecting.
York Museum would like to hear from museums in North Yorkshire that collect archaeological material, to find out:
• Where you collect from
• What you collect (e.g. all archaeological material including excavation archives; only Treasure)
• Whether there are any limits to your collecting (e.g. not large excavation archives).
