Roots and Branches Project

Would your museum like to take action against climate change?
Roots and Branches is a collaboration between The Carbon Literacy Project, Museum Development England and Manchester Museum, supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England. It aims to train and certify 1,500 people from 300 museums as Carbon Literate over the next two years and give an opportunity for museums to converse, experiment, and test new ideas for a more sustainable future.

Annual Museum Survey 2020 Results

The figures from the Annual Museum Survey 2020 are now available to view online. This is part of a national survey from Museum Development England, with funding from Arts Council England. The data is the most comprehensive and robust survey of English museums in more than a decade. Using the report below, we can show the social and economic important of non-national Accredited museums to funders and stakeholders – locally, regionally, and nationally.

Coronavirus Update – Further easing of restrictions CONFIRMED for 17 May and updated guidance on business events

On 10 May the Prime Minister announced that the Government will go ahead with moving to Step 3 in England from 17 May. This will mean that indoor museums and galleries in England will be permitted to open with COVID-secure measures.
