New CPD Bursary – Apply to attend the MA Conference 2022

Do you know about our new CPD Bursary?

MDY’s CPD Bursary can be used to develop knowledge, skills and behaviours of people employed by or volunteering in museums that reflect the needs of regional museums. Activities can include a range of learning from workshops through to study trips.

Applications are welcomed for up to £1,000, to support museums in investing in the professional development of their workforce. The fund has a total of £3,000 and applications will be assessed on a rolling basis until 31st December 2022 or until all funds are allocated.

With the MA Conference coming up, there’s no better time to apply!

The MA hybrid Conference 2022 will be held at Edinburgh International Conference Centre from 3 to 5 November 2022, and will also be available online for remote attendees.

Conference sessions will cover:

  • How museums can become more sustainable organisations and use their collections, buildings and knowledge to support communities to make positive environmental changes
  • What systemic racism is; what an anti-racism museum looks like and what changes we need to create inclusive organisations
  • Wellbeing and how museums can support workforce wellbeing and work with their communities to recover from the pandemic
  • The legacy of empire and slavery, including how can we empower communities to help decolonise our museums in a dynamic, collaborative and inclusive way
