An Introduction to Museum Accreditation

This short morning session is for non-accredited museums who are considering applying to Museum Accreditation to find what the scheme entails and whether it is suitable for your organisation.

The session will cover: 

• Overview of the Accreditation Standard
• The benefits of being Accredited
• Who is eligible
• How to apply (including timeframes)
• Maintaining Accreditation

Session outcomes

After the session, you will:

• Have a better understanding of the Accreditation Scheme for museums in the UK
• Be aware of the benefits of being Accreditation
• Understand who is eligible and why some organisations are not suitable for the Accreditation scheme
• Know what’s involved in applying and maintaining accreditation
• Know where to access further sources of advice and support
