Diversifying Museum Visitors ‘Open Up’ Project

Open Up: Museums for Everyone

The ‘Open Up: Museums for everyone’ project was launched in 2017 to address under-representation in visitors to museums across the UK. A website along with a number of useful free resources created by Open Up has now been launched.

‘Open Up can help you think about how to make your museum relevant to people who don’t currently visit and take action that will increase your visitor numbers, improve your resilience and better fulfil your organisation’s purpose.’

You can find the resource, and a number of case studies, on the website.

The project has been made possible through funding from Arts Council England, AIM, MALD, Museums Galleries Scotland and National Museums Northern Ireland and are designed to help all size museums to increase the diversity of their visitors.
